What is Crossfit?
“CrossFit is a lifestyle characterized by safe, effective exercise and sound nutrition. CrossFit can be used to accomplish any goal, from improved health to weight loss to better performance. The program works for everyone—people who are just starting out and people who have trained for years.” (https://www.crossfit.com/what-is-crossfit)
How is CrossFit different from other workouts?
CrossFit isn’t just a workout, it’s a lifestyle. CrossFit incorporates exercise and nutrition to give you the best results. The goal of CrossFit workouts is to not focus in on one area but to make sure your body as a whole functions at top performance. Our programming is developed around the use of free weights and bodyweight movements, remember YOU’RE the machine.
Why Crossfit 584 of Burlington? What makes crossfit 584 different from other Burlington gyms?
At Crossfit 584 you will find people of all ages, abilities, and diversities looking to positively change their lives. You are sure to feel welcome here! At our gym you will find everything you need under one roof. You won’t find “treadmill zombies” in their own little worlds watching the latest info-tainment program or be asked to “keep it down” while you train. Whether you are a beginner or a professional, at Crossfit 584 we push ourselves to our limits to better ourselves. Our gym is loud and we push each other hard. Fitness takes work and that is why we work hard!
The biggest difference you will see is our coaching. At larger gyms you are left on your own to figure out how to use the machines. EVERY CrossFit class is guided by a Level 1 certified coach. Each one of our coaches has a vast knowledge of movement, mobility, and technique. We pride ourselves on creating a safe, injury free environment through the education of proper technique for each of our athletes.
What are the classes like?
Our classes are one hour small group fitness classes. We believe that group fitness creates a strong bond between members. “The person who finishes last receives the loudest cheers,” is a way of life at CrossFit 584.
Each class starts with a guided warm up. Then our coaches will guide you through the skill or strength portion of the workout. The class will then complete the WOD (Workout of the day). Our program is developed to enhance your skills and strength while also working on cardiovascular endurance.
We also offer “Open” gym times. This allows athletes to come in and work on their individual needs.
