Here at CrossFit 584 you’ll find a community of people looking for positive changes in their lives. With athletes of all ages, abilities, and diversities anyone will feel welcome and right at home. You’ll find everything you need for a well-rounded fitness experience under our roof. You won’t find “treadmill zombies” in their own little worlds watching the latest info-tainment program or be asked to “keep it down” while you train. We train as a community, motivating each other along the way. From the beginner to the expert, we push ourselves to our limits and then push those limits out of our damn way! Our gym is loud. We push each other hard. We yell, grunt, sweat and sometimes bleed. Why? Because fitness takes work and we work hard.

We also have the most knowledgeable CrossFit staff around!  There are so many other gyms out there that like to use the term HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) for it’s marketability.  Some put down the CrossFit methods and methodology saying it’s unsafe or pointless if you want to get results. To that I would say that the proof is in the pudding.

Owner Scott Barbee has been involved with CrossFit for almost 12 years now and in gyms since the booming popularity of HIIT style training has come onto the scene. He has been lucky enough to have met and trained with some of the fittest people around.  Most of which would tell you that if done properly and thoroughly, CrossFit can be the best program to be involved in. It has introduced so many people to so many different areas of fitness training and while some may prefer the heavy lifting and others prefer the endurance side of things, there is one common factor among them all, they all enjoy their fitness journeys so much more when involved with CrossFit.


What makes us different than other gyms?

One of the first things you’ll notice when entering the gym is that we have an open floor space without the large amount of unnecessary machines taking up space you would normally see in a larger gym. Our programming is developed around the use of free weights and bodyweight movements, remember YOU’RE the machine. The use of free weights coupled with body weight and cardiovascular movements has been proven to give you a more “functional fitness”.  Machines force you to move on their planned range of motion whereas moving objects teaches YOU to be better prepared to do natural movements in life and do them much more safely. Since our program is constantly varied, you will find that the mundane repetition of the standard training regiment will no longer exist. Athletes also notice the difference in the amount of calories burned in a shorter amount of time because of the intensity at which you train.  Fitness comes from moving and moving more!

Monday – Thursday at 10:30 – 12:30  1:30 – 5:00  7:00-8:00
Come in during open gym hours to work on skills or do your own personal WOD.
